The most important thing between the printer and the print media in the thermal transfer printing is the thermal transfer ribbon.
Through the implementation and the quality of thermal transfer ribbon, the print quality and durability of printout are most certainly.
For this reason, there is in our offer a variety of different qualities, which cover virtually every requirement.
The first difference is between Flathead and Near Edge qualities.
In the Flathead technology is the print head several millimeters from the edge issue, which the thermal transfer ribbon and the media to remain for some time together to be transported before the thermal transfer ribbon on a diversion away takes from the media.
In Near Edge printers, the print head directly to the output edge and the thermal transfer ribbon is immediately after printing distract from the media.
The majority of the thermal transfer printer is currently engaged in the Flathead technology. Regardless of the fundamental construction concerning the arrangement and technology of the print head, there are different qualities of each group transfer ribbons, which are roughly divided into the following categories.

Wax standard qualities:

Standard ribbon quality for label printing, without request to sweep- and scratch resistance.
Used for standard paper labels and tags in coated or uncoated finish. For high print speed and low head temperature. Wax quality is the cheapest option.

Wax+ qualities:

Improved wax ribbons, with a higher share of harder waxes and usually with synthetic resin shares. The printout have more sweep- and scratch resistance like the standard wax ribbons. For nearly all paper qualities and also usable with some foil material. Good value for money.

Wax/Resin qualities

By combining different waxes and a greater share of hard resin components, much better resistance to external mechanical effects. Allow often very high speeds at medium print head temperature. Through the many possible combinations of wax and resin shares, for a very broad spectrum of media.

Resin qualities

Special ribbons for special applications. Through the very high melting point suitable for temperature load applications. Textiles labels, resistance to alkalis, solvents and chemicals, very high sweep-and scratch-resistant, UV insensitivity and many other special requirements can be realized with resin ribbons.

Color ribbons

We deliver also thermal transfer ribbons in different color versions, with all the above qualities are used. Not every color in all quality versions available.
There are ribbons for spot color applications. In this case you used a color ribbon instead of a black ribbon.
For special Color printers a process color ribbons in cyan, magenta, yellow and process black available. This allows for example custom specified labels in full color. The print quality is not the class of laser or inkjet printers and also subject to relatively high costs for consumer material.

Colored thermal transfer ribbons we offer in more than 100 different colors.
If your required quality and color is not available on the market and you need a larger quantity of this material, it is also a special development possible, provided that the technical conditions are fulfilled.

Through the variety of ways, the ribbons are custom made, as the ribbon regardless of quality even in the form of clothing for the existing printer (ribbon length, ribbon width, ink inside - CSI, or outside - CSO, Flat Head - FH or Near-Edge NE Technology, diameter of the core role, etc.) will be taken.
This makes storage in practice impossible.
